In addition to funding operating expenses,
the Best of the Northwest Gala raises funds for three very important projects:
Free Children's Series - Cypress Creek FACE will present four performances in the 2024-2025 season that are completely free to the public. Because the concerts are free, they are attended by children of all races, ages, and income levels allowing community members the opportunity to experience a live performance, in some case, for the first time. Funds are used for artist fees and production costs for all four performances. Performances in the 2024-2025 season will be at Mangum-Howell Community Center on Saturday mornings at 11:00am. Click here for information about performances.
Summer Strings Camp Program - Cypress Creek FACE presents two summer strings camps each summer for junior high orchestra students. Funds are used for scholarships that are given to students who are not able to afford to attend and to help pay for teachers, supplies and production costs. Our 6th Grade Strings Camp is for incoming Klein ISD 6th graders who participated in the Klein 5th Grade Strings program. The Summer Strings Camp is open to all 7th, 8th and 9th graders going into Orchestra in the fall. We have students from Cy-Fair, Tomball and Magnolia in addition to Klein ISD.
College Scholarship Fund - Each year two students are selected from the University of Houston and two from Sam Houston State University to receive scholarships. Two students will receive $2,000 each. One student at the University of Houston will receive the J. Kent Adams Scholarship in the amount of $2,500. One student at Sam Houston State University will receive the Clara Lewis Scholarship in the amount of $2,500.
