2024 Gala Honorees

Carol & Calvin Cobb

Carol and Calvin have been in Northwest Houston since the mid-1970s.  They were introduced to the Cultural District in 2005 as the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts was being created. This was also their introduction to the Centrum and FACE and the wonderful performances they bring to our community. They liked the idea of having the Pearl added to the Cultural District, a unique center in all the greater Houston area.  Seeing what the community has created and how the Cultural District and the Arts serve the area, especially school children, has been very rewarding for them.  Calvin has often said, “This is the most rewarding activity in which we have been involved.”   

Carol has been an interior decorator for 47 years and her firm Design Patch has served many in our area. She has been very active in volunteering including chairing and serving on gala committees for several organizations, Northwest Assistance Ministries, Centrum Arts League, Shinning Stars Guild, and the Pearl Fincher MFA. 

Calvin served as Chair of the Board of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts from 2007 to 2021 and worked with FACE to develop programs for school children in our community that have served thousands of children over the years. He is President of the Cypress Creek Drainage Improvement District that was created by the Texas Legislature to address flooding in the Cypress Creek Watershed. Carol and Calvin are active members of Lakewood Methodist Church.
