2023 Honorees
Diane and Larry Lipton
Rusty and I are delighted to join The Centrum Arts League in honoring Diane and Larry Lipton at the Best of the Northwest Gala 2023 celebrating the 27th season of Cypress Creek FACE on Friday, September 22nd at the Houston City Place Marriott at Springwoods Village. The Liptons have been committed to volunteerism in the Houston NW area for over thirty years.
Larry moved to NW Harris County in 1985 to open The Lipton Agency of Allstate Insurance which he enjoyed until his retirement on May 1, 2022. Larry’s passion for supporting law enforcement began in 1990 with the establishment of the Public Safety Forum and co-founding of the annual Salute to Law Enforcement. He has been continuously dedicated to revitalization of the community working to eradicate bandit signs, spearheading the demolition of ten abandoned buildings, partnering with County Commissioners to strengthen laws against sexually oriented businesses and serving as an overall community problem solver. Larry particularly enjoyed being the volunteer photographer and videographer for many local non-profits including The Centrum Arts League for over twenty years.
Larry and Diane met as a result of community service twenty-two years ago and continue that passion together. Diane has served on the Shining Stars Board of Directors for the past thirteen years, chairing their gala for ten of those. She is a member of The Centrum Arts League (CAL) that supports the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment (FACE). She was privileged to co-chair the 2018 and 2021 galas for CAL. She also chaired the fundraiser to reopen The Centrum after Hurricane Harvey. Larry and Diane love their season tickets on the front row for the Star-Lit! Series concerts where they enjoy and support FACE!
The Centrum Arts League Gala, co-chaired by Nita Bedford and Sandra Loyd benefits FACE, which supports the arts in Northwest Harris County. Each year children are introduced to the arts through free programs and concerts and the summer orchestra camp program: 6th Grade Strings and Summer Strings for 7th, 8th & 9th graders. All ages enjoy the Star-Lit! and Promenade concerts. In addition, FACE awards scholarships to area music students attending Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston each year.
We invite you to honor Diane and Larry and their dedication to the arts by contributing to the Honorary Committee. If you would like your name included on the invitation as an Honorary Committee Supporter, click the link below and contribute by July 16th.
